October 16, 2008 SEAU/ASCE The Structural Engineers
Association of Utah will be meeting at the University of Utah WEB 103
to discuss the new Structural Engineering Licensing Laws and
Certification. ASCE members are invited to attend. There is no cost.
Discussion on SB200 – Professional Engineers Licensing
Amendments ‐ went into effect in the state of Utah on May 5, 2008.
Learn how this affects you and future work in the field of structural
engineering. In addition a member of the board of the National Council
of Structural Engineers will be present to discuss the status of the
Structural Engineers Certification Board and the future of structural
licensing in the country.
October 17, 2008 Registration is due for the 5th Annual Defining
Your Path Conference for 8th Grade Girls on Saturday October 25,
2008. Registration materials are attached and also available at www.
youth.utah.edu . The conference is restricted to 200 8th grade girls and
there are a limited number of scholarships available. Please take a
minute to look at the wonderful line-up of speakers in many career areas
from technology, medicine, law, art and more! All for $10 – and an adult
session runs concurrently for $5!
